Dear Leader, honesty does not need to be brutal to be effective.
It is possible to be truthful and clear without cutting someone down to size. Honesty comes in lots of different flavors — kind, curious, gentle, compassionate, empowering.
Pick one. Just find something more creative than “brutal”.
